Hey guys, happy Monday again — the weeks are flying by.

Originally, I planned to talk about setting up events in RPG Maker and how complex they can get... but during development today, I realized I want to bring up something much more important.

While working on Dungeon 5, I started thinking about the next phase of the story. I already have the broad strokes in mind — what happens, where it’s going — but I asked myself a serious question:

How do I keep things exciting after the early-game mystery fades, and before the late-game payoff begins?

Early game is easy — you’re learning about the world, discovering who you are, and everything feels fresh.Late game also has built-in tension — the stakes are high, the climax is near, and choices matter.

But mid-game? That’s the real challenge. Most games throw in filler content to pad the time. I’ve always hated that. You can tell it’s filler — fetch quests, sudden roadblocks, irrelevant subplots. It drags the story down and takes you off the main path.

So I made a decision:🔸 No filler.🔸 No artificial padding.

Instead, I slowed the pace just enough to deepen the story and raise the tension — without losing momentum.

Enter Dr. Felix

Lyn and Nyx will meet a new character: Dr. Felix. He’s smart, important, and knows way more than he lets on. He’s a key figure in the mid-game arc, Who knows what answers he has

Will you help Felix uncover the truth? Will you learn what must be done to save the world… or what should never be done?

That’s up to you.

With Felix comes a massive new town, unlike any place you’ve seen in the game so far. But don’t get too comfortable. In a post-apocalyptic world, nowhere is truly safe.

Trust no one but yourself — and your allies.

Thanks again for reading and staying up to date.Your support means a lot, and every bit of feedback helps me push this project forward.

Question of the Week:

If you could add one gameplay mechanic to Nyx, what would it be?Let me know — I’m always curious what players think would make the game even better.
